COREBAN FIND WAVES AT LOST CITY - AFRICA E-mail

Sun CityWritten by: Ivan van Vuuren

When we first heard about the African man-made wave hundreds of miles from the nearest coastline our thoughts were obviously mixed with different images. Small, mushy, close outs with quick take offs and no power. That was until last week when we received an invite from Sun International to fly to Johannesburg, South Africa to test ride the wave on a SUP for a future Coreban event.

Crossing the Adriatic Sea E-mail
Crossing the Adriatic SeaRecently, an Italian crew took to the sea by SUP. They crossed the Adriatic sea between Croatia and Italy, starting out from Rovijn in Croatia, and finishing at Aloha Beach, in Marina Romea, Italy. The crew paddled 123 km, and it took them 24.5 hours. Amazing job, guys!!

Paddle in Simonstown E-mail

Written & Pictures by: PeterP

Paddlers in Simonstown invited us to join them for their month-end paddling race on Sunday 25th July. The weather was unbelievable (as were the waves everywhere) so it was a bit ironic that it ended up being just Greg Bertish and myself doing the race together with 40 odd kayaks and surfski’s.

Paddle in Simonstown E-mail

Cape Town, South Africa: Paddlers in Simonstown are hosting a surfski race 5km where SUP’ are invited to take part.

Naish will have an informal demo day of race boards (incl Javelin) and beginner boards.

"The third race of the season is Sunday 25th July at 10am, registration from 9am, again at Simon's Town Long Beach behind the station. Wind forecast is good so perhaps we will have a calm race this time. This is also an excellent time to bring along friends and family who want to try out a kayak. There will be a demonstration of Stand Up Paddle Boarding with some available to test drive. Check the blog again on Saturday and if the weather seems nasty remember to call 082 556 9945 on race day to listen to a message about whether it is going ahead or postponed to next Sunday."

The Javelin 14' is the first of the 2 flat water boards from Naish. These boards have been doing really well in overseas events and it will be interesting to go head to head with it's downwind brother, the 14' Glide!

Check out DJ's "first look" review of the board

The guys from Naish will be holding a demo afternoon at Canal Walk, Cape Town, shortly so watch out for the information on http://www.suphq.com and on our Facebook Page
