Times goin' DOWN in Cape TOWN!!! |
Chilly Slickers in the Waterfront Canals saw a healthy turnout of 24 paddlers despite very cool, overcast conditions – and what a paddle!
Dylan had a point to prove after nearly cracking the course record last week and seeing Brad take it on Tuesday at Intaka to hold two course-record crowns. Dylan took the wholeshot with Papa Frick in hot pursuit whilst Brad seemed happy to let Dylan get a boardlength by the first bridge.

Durban Winter SUP Series - Race 2 |

Our beautiful Durban ocean delivered another perler of a day with nice flat conditions and warm water ... The race was held at Dairy Beach, so the SUP paddlers were allowed to use the rip against the pier to go out. Some opt'd for the beach break and werent so lucky!

Feisty youngsters at City Slickers |
Another great City Slicker evening with 30 paddle ouens in the mix. Pre-start wetting from Mike Scott had everyone in stitches but PeterP still managed to get wholeshot with Brad Adams immediately challenging and getting by before the first corner. Any ideas of a happy draft was quickly dashed by a feisty Dylan Frick who pulled out and belted past to take second. Dylan then held a safe second till the halfway bouy turn where Peter got dropped and the youngsters now started out an epic battle. Pulling out of a draft and getting past takes some doing and Brad was in no way going to let anyone spoil his week so what went down next, was nothing short of epic.

Course records and PB galore at Intaka |
What a night! Waterlevels near the high-watermark and no wind provided a perfect canvas for some seriously good times. 20 paddlers tore off into the night as the 6.15pm start is now virtually dark. Lollo and Sylvie provided the longest count down in Intaka history with the 20 second countdown being given at one second intervals! Great start for Brad Adams with Andrew Cillie sticking his nose in until he seemed to slip and lose a paddle stroke.
