 Sunset Beach Pro, World Tour Opener just 3 weeks away
As epic swell after epic swell pounds the North Shore of Oahu, tension is mounting for the grand opening for the 2012 season of the Stand Up World Tour at the iconic Sunset Beach.
After the giant surf of 2010 and 2011, right in the middle of the prime winter swell season here in Hawaii, competitors will once again be dusting off their guns in preparation for the 2012 assault, knowing that they will have to put it all on the line to place at this prestigious World Tour Opener.

 Naish International and Dave Kalama have parted ways after a three year relationship that helped to spark the amazing growth of Stand Up Paddling across the globe. Naish has grown and expanded its team over the past few years to include top racers and wave riders from around the world.

An exciting new season awaits the 2012 Stand Up World Tour as the official schedule is announced and riders ready themselves to do battle for the coveted World Championship crown. The events maintain the same locations as 2011, except for a special final event that will adopt a new format for 2012: the Location X Grand Finals:

 From http://www.sup-guide.com On Friday, December 9th, 2011, Fanatic Team Riders Belar Diaz, Fred Bonnef, Ramon Blanco and Jaime Herraiz ( www.wet-tarifa.com) set out for another SUP first: Paddling from Spain to the African continent and back on the same day. Belar and Fred had already proven they are up for tough challenges by crossing from Ibiza to the Spanish mainland on a SUP with Annabel Anderson earlier this year.
