NEWS FROM PERU !!
The men surfed 2 qualifying rounds on Monday and the ladies only 1. Both Justin Bing and Chris Bertish made it thru both rounds and are due to surf again on Wed, Tammy only surfed 1 round and has also made it thru to the next round. Tuesday Feb 26th is repro charge rounds for both men and woman. These surf heats will be surfed first hopefully once the mist lifts as was with today. The distance paddle races are going to be later in the day so that teams can still get their boards out of Customs. The Team manager has had to approach the ISA president in order to ask for his help and the Team has an ISA person that has been working with Customs the whole time, ISA has even paid Customs a release deposit fee for each board and but the Team is still awaiting their release!!!!!! Nearly every team is having problems with boards. ISA is going to hold off the distance race event as long as possible as they are very aware of the situation but if boards are still not released they will have to go ahead without half of the field
Which is very unfortunate as most of the top competitors are board less .
