Stephane Etienne and Nicole Boronat recently accoumplish the first Sup crossing between the islands of Lanzarote to Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands.
They started at Pta Pechiguera at the south point of Lanzarote. The North wind blew about 20knots providing them with some good runners on their 14' Naish Glides. After about a km the wind dropped and the paddling became more difficult with swells coming from two angles with a strong current. The pair reached the Harbour wall at Corralejo after 3h of paddling to complete a distance of 14km.
Here is a quote after the journey was completed.
" we are stoked to have been the first to cross the channel of "la Bocaïna" between lanzarote and fuertventura, the idea was in our minds since long time. It was an excellente experience , paddling out at sea in the middle of the atlantique provide good feeling and intensity, we had to deal with wave, currents and take option of route to reach our finale destination, really exciting ! This crossing is a classic down wind with "a good North wind" and we are sure that very soon others SUPers will experience it."
And they thanked Fonfo for boat assistance , Mario Entero for the pictures and Nayra A for the video.
