Naish
Naish Hokua 2011 9.6 vs Hokua 2012 9.5 E-mail

hokua95_range

Rider: Gary Funnell (advanced rider) (rides roughly 60 hours a month, or 700 hours a year, so long as conditions allow)

Weight: 102kg

Conditions: tested at 3x different surf spots, from slow, cross-onshore waves 2-4ft, to fast high speed waves 3-4ft with fast drop, to large chunky storm surf 5-6ft. (never got to test in perfect glassy conditions yet)

Fin format: tri-fin (set in mid position in the box)

Quad: I would not recommend quad in the 2011 board over tri fin configuration, I have not tested the 2012 in quad so can’t comment.

Longterm Naish 9'6 Hukua Review. E-mail

hokua_9_6Reviewed by Brendon.

Construction: Wood Sandwich.

Size: 9'6 Long * 29 and 1/4" Wide * 4 and 3/8" thick 135l volume.

Fins: Five Fin Setup.

Impressions:

The 9'6 Hukua is a great board as an introduction to shorter SUPs for lighter people and a great surf board for the heavier SUPer. I have been riding this board for over a year now and am still very impressed. I weigh in at about 100kg which limits my choice in shorter boards quite drastically.

David JohnReview By: DavidJohn

Pictures by: David John

After hearing about the new Naish paddle I decided to buy myself one for a couple of reasons.. I was interested to see what they're like and I thought it would be good to have a cheap paddle to lend friends that want to have a go at SUP'ing
