First look at the new Naish Javelin E-mail

Pictures & Video by: David John

Naish JavelinThe 14’ Flatwater racer from Naish is called the Javelin and David John from Australia was the first to give us some feedback on the new speedster.

First reports are very encouraging if you are into racing or fitness training on flatwater.

Century City and Waterfront Canal racers will be hard pressed to keep up with the Javelin as it seems from first outings to be between 10-20% faster than Glide 14’ and 17’s!!!!!

The Glides are built for downwinders and will be substantially faster than your average 11’6-12’6 boards even on flatwater – but the Javelin is purpose built for speed on flatwater and will take on the Glides with ease. The Javelin is not designed to replace the Glides as the Glides will cope with swell and runners much better and are dedicated long-distance/downwind boards.

The price of one of these babies are expected to be the same as the 14' Glide.

The 14' Glide has a volume of 269L and the Javelin is believed to have a similar volume, and to quote David John (who has each model in the glide range) "It's fast.. It's light.. and it's pretty tippy"

PeterP from Naish said that they have only a few Naish Javelins on order so if you want to reserve one you better get in early.

Contact PeterP or one of their retailers for the full lowdown.
